Review of the book "The Power of Habit" by Charles Duhigg

Hello my beloved readers! welcomeback to my blog

Now i would like to tell you about the book that make you change your life just with habits. This book is so amazing, and the tittle is "The Power of Habit". Here i tell you about the review before you go to the bookstore to buy this book, to make sure that this book its very recommended for you all. Here we go.....!!!

Tittle : The Power of Habit
Author : Charles Duhigg
THickness : 371 page/ 3 chapter

Habits are part of life. Apparently, habits have an important role for our lives. All things in our lives, reflection are determined by habits. All activities in our life are the result of habits. There are three important components. First, a cue that means a trigger that signals something to do. Second, routines, namely activities carried out continuously. Thirdly, the reward or results obtained after doing cue and routine.

Habits can also be changed, how do you change it?
1. Cue, to create or change habits we must find the trigger first.
2. Routine, after you find it you have to do it continuously
3. Reward, actions taken continuously will be a gift for you.

A concrete example of this habit is when we brushed our teeth. In the past, people did not know about brushing their teeth, after finding ways to brush their teeth, it became a habit that could not be overcome.

We have often heard that habits can determine a person's life. They say this does not mean just a word but this is true. Good habits will lead us to good things and bad habits will lead us to bad things. Habit is a reflection of our activities that we do continuously.

Habits are not only done by ordinary people, but also by famous people. Before they become great people, they are just like us, because they habits are good, they can be great and famous all over the world. They also have big businesses that are also well-known throughout the world. For example, Hopkins with Pepsodent, and Howard Schultz with starbucks.

This book tells about how great people get their achievements that start from a habit. This teaches what is done from small things that we don't even realize.

In the last chapter on this book, Charles Duhigg give us the formula how to change aour habit. It called Framework. And the way to change our habit are :
Identity the routine, to understand your own habits, you need to identify the components of your loops. Once you have diagnosed the habit loop of a particular behavior, you can look for ways to supplant old vices with new routines.
Experiment with Reward, rewards are powerful because they satisfy cravings. But we’re often not conscious of the cravings that drive our behaviors. When the Febreze marketing team discovered that consumers desired a fresh scent at the end of a cleaning ritual, for example, they had found a craving that no one even knew existed. It was hiding in plain sight. Most cravings are like this: obvious in retrospect, but incredibly hard to see when we are under their sway.
Isolate the CueTo identify a cue amid the noise, we can use the same system as the psychologist: Identify categories of behaviors ahead of time to scrutinize in order to see patterns. Luckily, science offers some help in this regard. Experiments have shown that almost all habitual cues fit into one of five categories: Location, Time, Emotional state, Other people, Immediately preceding action.
Have a Plan, once you’ve figured out your habit loop—you’ve identified the reward driving your behavior, the cue triggering it, and the routine itself—you can begin to shift the behavior. You can change to a better routine by planning for the cue and choosing a behavior that delivers the reward you are craving. What you need is a plan. Put another way, a habit is a formula our brain automatically follows: When I see CUE, I will do ROUTINE in order to get a REWARD.

Happy Reading readers😚

The synopsis of The Life Changing Magic of Tidying Up from Marie Kondo.

The Life Changing Magic of Tidying Up, Marie Kondo

Hello guys Assalamualaikum, its been long time for me to write on my blog since i post my last blog on October. I am very busy with my exam😢, so i can’t write something on this blog. And now i would like to review a book. This books genre is different than some books that i have read. Do you guys curious about his book? Ok! I will make the synopsis for you all. Here we go!!!!

Tittle : The Life Changing Magic of Tidying Up

Author : Marie Kondo

Chapter/Page: 5 chapter/139 page

Why can not I keep my house in order?
Marie Kondo breaks the assumption of people who think that the tidy does not need teaching. The general assumption,in Japan at  least, is that tidying doesn’t need to be taught but rather is picked up naturally. So, Marie Kondo make a program to teach other how to tidy. She think people should learn about tidying if their want to know how to tidy proparly.Marie Kondo believes that if we tidy things up regularly and correctly it will not cause a rebound. instead, it will make the room we clean change more comfortable. We must make tidying a habit. so that tidying becomes a habit we have to start slowly. start toying your house a little every day. if one day is 24 hours, then spend just 2 hours to clean up your house. by getting used to it, tying will be attached to us. You willnever get your house in order if you only clean up half-heartedly. Tidying in the end is just a physical act. The work involved can be broadly divided into two kinds: deciding whether or not to dispose of something and deciding where to put it.

2.    Finish discarding first
When we want to tidy up our house, make sure we choose the items we want to dispose of. the items to be disposed of must be considered, their functions, or how important they are for us.
3.  Tidying  by category works like magic
If we can tidy up the house, we have to tidy it up according to the category of items we want to tidy up. when you want to tidy up your clothes, you have to tidy up your clothes first, don't mix them with other items. it can simplify and speed up your work.
4.   Storing  your things to make your life shine
To make the house look neat, you can store things in a place. items that are stored should be important items or that you have sorted. Do not spread storage to store items. store items in the same category and in the same place.
5.  The magic of tidying dramatically transforms your life
At their core, the things we really like do not change over time. Putting your house in order is a great way to discover what they are. One of   the magical effects of tidying is confidence in your decision-making  capacity. I believe that tidying is a celebration, a special  send-of for those things that will be departing from the house, and  therefore I dress accordingly. In essence, tidying ought to be the act of restoring balance among people,  their possessions, and the house they live in.

Well, that is the synopsis for the The Life Changing Magic of Tidying Up book from Marie Kondo. From this book we know that, Tidy habits can make our future life tidy too, because we always do something regularly.

However, i will talk about one of many chapter from this book. I will talk about chapter 3 "Men go to the caves and women talk". This chapter talk about the differences between men and women when they're have some problems.

When men has some problem in their life, men are tends to close theirself. Their dosen't want others to know about their problems. In contrast, women will talk about their problems to their friends and their will tell all of their problems.

When men gets up with some problems he never talks about his problem, he becomes very quiet and goes to his private to think about his problem. On the other hand, when women upset she will talk too much about her problem to people who trust. After she talk about her problem in great detail, she will feel better.

Men want to solve his problem himself. He can feel weak if other people want to help him to solve his problem. When a man stucks on his problem, to get unstuck he is drawn to solving little problem, like doing their hobies or do any challenging activity. While women will find someone who trusted and she want to be heard and ask to her friend to help her to solve her problems.

Naming Tradition in Telagasari

Hello guys! Assalamualaikum! welcome back to my blog 😉

This is the second time i write something on this blog. The topic still about name but now i will tell you about the naming tradition especially in my region(Surrounding Telagasari and Wadas). As we know naming is the tradition that has been applied for a long time ago. Every region has different naming tradition and that's why every people in different region has a different unique name.

My region has a unique naming tradition. Every parents give their children name uniquely. The people in my region has a repeatedly name for example NANA SURYANA or EKA PRASTIKA. These names are reflects that they are Sundanese. Sundanese always has unique name and also unique tradition.

Furthermore, people in my region always give their children with the samiliar name with their sister or brother.  For example, a mother give her elder son name Sidik then she give her second son name Sodik. My neighbour also do that, she give her elder daughter name Ananda and then she give her second daughter Aninda even though her children are not twins.

Sundanese old people also has a unique name, for example one of my teacher has name Oon. In indonesia oon means stupid, so when i called her with her name i feell so rude. That's why i never call her with her name again (forgive me Mom, but its true wkwk 😅).

However, i am proud to be sundanese because we have a lot of unique culture and tradition. Although sometime it sounds weird but our ancestor its so amazing because they can make a unique and awesome tradition with all their limitations.

Ok, its all about naming tradition in my region if you have the different tradition in your region, you can tell me or show me the differences. Don't forget to comment and correct my mistake after you read this article and don't forget to follow my instagram too(lisnay_n) 😂. Thank you for you all who read my previous article😘. What is your name?

Hello guys! Assalamualaikum. How was your day? I hope it Great!

After struggling to find a topic to write an article, finally i could write my first article. Yeaaay!!
In this article i will tell you about the history about name. Do you have a name? I think everyone in the world has a name. And everyone has a unique history and meaning about their name.

My parents gave me "Lisna Yulianti" as my name. Initially there is no trouble with my name, but when i was elementary school i think that my name is so weird because in my school no one has the same name as me. And everytime my teacher call me with my full name their always said "Lisna, were you born on july?" It was so annoying because i was born on October.

One time, i asked my mother about my name " Mama why you gave me Lisna as my name? What is the meaning of this name?" and my Mama said "I don't know what is that, your name was given by your grandfather". And again, it was so annoying because i can't asked my grandfather because he had passed away😑.

If i can change my name i will change my name to be Annisa or Siti or Maimunah😂 or anything that has a mean, so I don't need ask everyone to tell me what is the meaning of my name. Otherwise i will change my name with western name such as Grace or Kate or Chloe, or if I am a boy I will choose Joe, Sam or Nichol. There are the cute name and I love it so much. But I don't want to change my name because it given by grandfather and i love him so much.

However, if I have some children later, I will give Annisa Fathonul Lutfah as my daughter name and Muhammad Azizul Rachim for my son name. Annisa Fathonul Lutfah mean a smart and graceful woman. I hope my daughter can be a smart and graceful girl and has good morals. Muhammad Azizul Rachim means a brave and merciful man. I hope my son can be a brave man but can still save and love each other.

Thus, its all my story about name. The name is not only about identity but it can be an expectation for the people who has it. A name must has a mean because the mean can be an orison for the people who has it to be better in their life. And if you want to give a name to other make sure that the name has a good meaning and you can ask to someone about good or bad the name that will you give to other. Ya you can ask me on instagram (@lisnay_n) wkwk😂. Ok that's all for my story. Pardon my engish, CMIIW AND SEE YOU ON NEXT POST 😍 Wassalamualaikum👋
